My Ethical Promise
By choosing one of my mural services you will not only be increasing the enjoyment you and others receive from your space. You will also be actively making the world a better place to live for ourselves and for future generations.

How I Keep My Promise
ECOS Paint
I use Ecos Odourless Solvent-Free Organic Paints. These contain NO harmful solvents unlike other paints, which can cause asthma, allergic skin reactions and fatigue amongst other things. This makes them ideal for use in nurseries and children’s rooms. In addition they contain NO animal products and have not been tested on animals and because they’re odourless they leave no lingering paint smells. They also help prevent climate change, as they contain no VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds).
Stationary
If an email is not appropriate I use 100% recycled stationary for all my correspondences. Recycled paper can use less than half the energy required to produce virgin paper, saves trees and is far preferable to either incineration or land fill. That’s why all of the paper and envelopes I use are bought from The Green Stationary Company, specialists in green office products.
It is estimated that if each one of the UK’s 10 million office workers used one less staple every day, 120 tonnes of steel would be saved each year. Wherever possible I try not to use staples, instead using a ‘Paper-Lock’ staple-free stapler. They lock paper together in a clever way with the paper itself, no more staples!
Ethical Buying
I try to make my business an ethical consumer in it‘s own right. I always try to repair or reuse my equipment where possible and recycle any waste I produce where facilities are available. If buying new is my only option I always try to choose the most environmentally sound product from a company with a high ethical rating (to find these I subscribe to www.ethiscore.org as a reference).
Painting Clothes
The Elizabeth Mural Design uniform is an apron made from organic and fairly traded cotton fabric from Gossypium and suitable old clothes recycled for the purpose.
Dust Sheets
I clean and re-use all of my dust sheets to minimise waste. They are made of two layers, the lower water proof layer is constructed from old plastic carrier bags and biodegradable cellulose film. The upper layer is fairly traded organic cotton sheeting. I take saving your flooring just as seriously as saving the planet.
Banking
Elizabeth Mural Design banks with the only high street bank to have a credible ethical policy.
Community Projects
I regularly donate my time and expertise to community projects in my local area as I believe art can bring people together and help communities thrive.
