This atmospheric mural was designed with the element of surprise.
My clients wanted to commission a detailed mural, with a view through a window onto a jungle landscape for their son’s birthday. The challenge being that they wanted the mural to appear on his wall as a surprise on his birthday morning. As detailed murals can take time to produce we had to be creative.
The solution was to paint onto a custom made board and make the mural portable. Their panel mural was fully fitted with specially designed fixings so that the panel would hang flat against the wall, just like a real window. This also meant that the client could easily and safely remove and hide the mural, and then re-hang it themselves ready for the surprise.
The time it took from the first client contact to the installation, including the mural’s estimate, consultation, idea development, final design, design agreement, bespoke board production and mural painting, was less than one month.
